That's My Farmer challenges people to join farms that practice Community Supported Agriculture(CSA). CSA is people buying directly from local farmers, paying at the beginning of the season to share the econimic risk with farm families. Farmers get cash flow to start the season without going into debt. Households receive a weekly box of fresh fruits and vegetables from May to October/November. Some farms even offer chicken, cheese, honey and flowers!

This is last year's That's My Farmer list (2007) but I'm sure this year's is very similar:

FOOD for Lane County's Youth Farm On our urban 3-acre educational farm in Springfield, youth gain leadership skills, nutri tion awareness and work experience, while serving their community growing produce for distribution to low-income households through FOOD for Lane Co. Teens assist in tending the farm, managing the onsite farm stand and preparing CSA boxes. Come for a tour or to volunteer! Jen Anonia & Ted Purdy, FFLC 770 Bailey Hill Road, Eugene OR 97402,343-2822, gardens@foodforlanecounty.org.

Full Circle Community Farm A Biodynamic farm---a whole healthy farm system. Curious? Call us. Just 6 miles out River Road, we've bicycle-delivered our vegetables, fruit, flowers, storage foods and milk to town for CSA members since 1997 and offer on farm pickup to neighbors. There are simple, wonderful education experiences for members and 4J students. There are open house days, member workday potlucks and the Pumpkin Parade! Come visit the plants, animals & people who help bring this farm alive. Kevin Jones & Kate Perle, 4740 Wendover St., Eugene 97404, farm: Across from 1225 E Beacon Dr., 461-3798.
